My life...: "Driving around in my automobile"...

For a while now Randy and I have been discussing getting a new car, something a little bigger. It would be nice to have a little more room for the dogs and more specifically Randy wanted to get something he could hitch his tailgate grill to.
So we went out this weekend to look at SUV's, before we even left I made the specific comment "we were not getting a car today, we are only looking"
We had narrowed it down to three cars, the Chevy "Tahoe", the GMC "Terrain" and the Ford "Edge".
We realized from the start the "Tahoe" was too big for what we wanted and needed right now.
The GMC Terrain was too much like a truck.
The Ford Edge was juuuuust right.
We went up to Cary Crossroads Ford and we were happily greeted by Chris and he took us to look at the Edge. We test drove it and liked the model we saw but we weren't sold on it. At the this point and time we still had not seen the "Terrain" so we went to look at it. It's not a bad car, it just wasn't to our liking.
As Randy and I were leaving we realized that despite everything we had talked about, we really liked the "Edge" and even though I didn't want to get a car that day, I realized that no matter if it had been that day, the following day, the following week, or month, we would end up in the "Edge", SO we called Chris and told him we were headed back.
After a few pieces of red tape and an hour long wait for the finance guy to get his act together, we signed some papers and were handed some new keys!
Mind you we traded in my Civic for the down payment, which was my first new car only a couple of years ago... I traded it with mixed feelings, but in the end it was worth it.
For the next 36 months and no more than 45,000 miles, we will be driving a Ford Edge!
